"Invitation to Dushan"--Notice Inviting Contributions for the First Anhui International Contemporary Art Exhibition
As the first batch of national characteristics town, it has always been put at top priority in the construction of the town as how to make it stand out in momentum-gaining planning and construction of these characteristics towns in China, how to dig dive and promote the unique cultural charm of Dushan town and how to shape the cultural brand of Dushan town.
In order to further explore the rich historical and cultural resources of Dushan town in the process of inheriting the red spirit and the creation of the characteristic town, an academic symposium was hold on June 9th this year on the a preliminary consensus of creating "Invitation to Dushan" cultural brand by experts from all walks of life as from Public Art Committee ofChinese Culture Promotion Society, China Sculptor Association, Anhui Artists Association, Anhui Sculpture Association, University of Science and Technology of China, and relevant leaders from Yu’an district and Dushan town. After the meeting, different rounds of further in-depth cultural research and exchanges are made in creating the cultural brand of “Invitation to Dushan” and planning program by experts organized by Anhui Province Sculpture Association.
To further explore the rich historical and cultural resources of Dushan town in inheriting the red spirit and the creation of characteristics town, -the first Anhui International Contemporary Art Exhibition is therefore jointly hosted by Public ArtCommittee of Chinese Culture Promotion Society, Anhui Sculpture Association and the Yu’an district people's government.
I. Name of the exhibition
"Invitation to Dushan"--the first Anhui International Contemporary Art Exhibition
II. Organizational units

III. Exhibition scale, categories of works
Categories of works:
① 40 pieces of public art works including sculptures, ceramics, devices (images included)
② 60 pieces of painting works including traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, engraving print, watercolor powder painting and gouache.
IV. Requirements
(a) Theme of works
①All works shall be directed to the people-centered orientation with focus on the theme of the Chinese Dream, aiming at cultivation and promotion of the core values of socialism in compliance with the patriotic theme in inheritance and promotion of the excellent Chinese traditional culture. These works shall be profound inthoughts, exquisite in artistry, excellent in production and reflects the deep national spirit and the spirit of the times.
② The theme of works can focus on the regional culture, local customs and the prospective study on the space functionof the town or performance of eco-environment in accordance with the advantages cultural resources of “Keepinggreen environment, inheriting red sprit , protecting ancient characteristics creating blue features” combined with the local flavor of unique simplicity, nature, and down to the earth so as to inherit the excellent culture, embody the local folk of Dushan town, highlight regional characteristics and keep up the cultural brand of “Invitation toDushan".
③ This exhibition will also pay particular attention to excellent art works in celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party and commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Red Amy’s Long March victory.
(b) The works present shall be new art works created since July 2013.
(c) There are no more than 2 entries per contributor in this exhibition (photos taken from 2 or more angles for public art works).
(d) Related size requirements for the exhibition works, mounting (framing), and packing:
1. Traditional Chinese painting, oil painting works: no more than 100cm (wide) ×120cm (high) in principle after the work is mounted or framed.
2. Engraving print: no more than 80cm (wide) ×100cm (high) in principle after the work is framed.
3. Watercolor powder painting and gouache: no more than 100cm (wide) ×120cm (high) in principle after the work is framed.
4. Public works of art: In principle, size of the largest side shall be within 150cm, and weight within 50 kg, in rigid material only as fragile parts are unacceptable by the organizing committee.
5. Painting works: framed and packed by the author himself with information pasted behind the package. The complete package shall be well packed externally to avoid any damage while easy for transpiration. Public art works shall be packed with self-made strong box easy to carry and screw fastened easy for a secondary use.
V. Activities procedures
(a) Submission:
Based on the principle of voluntary participation, authorizes can submit any works that comply with the requirements.The contributors are required to fill in the Application form for 2017 Anhui International Contemporary Art Exhibition(available for download at the official website) and submit the electronic files of the works by photo with deadline: September 5, 201717: 00 PM.
(b) Preliminary evaluation:
The preliminary evaluation is scheduled for September 10, 2017 with results published in the official website without further notice to unsuccessful works.
As the Organizer will not return any submitted works, the contributors shall reserve the manuscript by themselves.
(c) Final evaluation:
The original works with entry to the final evaluation must be sent to the designated location of the organizing committee before September 20, 2017 by mail. Any contributors fail to send the works within time schedule will be regarded to give up the eligibility of exhibition. Final evaluation is scheduled for the end of September 2017.
Parcel of works shall be properly packaged, insured and sent by registered or express mail to avoid damage or loss during the delivery. Unsuccessful works after final evaluation will be returned by the Organizing committee office in one delivery.
(d) Exhibition time: October 1, 2017 (opening ceremony at 9:00)
(e) Venue: The Contemporary Art Museum of Anhui Sculpture Association (Dushan town, Yu’an district Lu'an city)
(f) Returned parcel: all works will be returned by the organizing committee office in 7 working days after the exhibition.
Comments：
Submissions of the works are only acceptable by e-mail transmission. The participant shall send application form, photos of the works, both sides of personal ID card in packed electronic file to the designated mailbox:diaosujia@vip.163.com under the subject: Anhui International Contemporary Art Exhibition + author's name. All electronic version of the related picture of works sent via mailbox shall have the resolution above 300DPI and the application form shall be filled accurately without any error or omission for all personnel information, namely, the author's name the same as that is mentioned on the ID card, contact information, works information, author profile, etc or otherwise the organizing committee reserve the right to cancel the exhibition qualification. Foreign exhibitors (foreign citizen of Chinese origin excluded) in principle shall fill the application form in English. Overdue submissions will not be admitted. Shortlisted painting works outside of Hefei area will be packed and framed by the committee who will cover the transpiration cost in round trip. Special notice:The package of the works must be reusable or otherwise the author shall be responsible for damage in the course of return delivery and transportation.
VI, Author awards
(a) All exhibition works will be entitled with relevant certificates for exhibition issued by Public Art Committee of Chinese Culture Promotion Society, the organizing committee of the International Contemporary Art exhibition of Anhui and Anhui Sculpture Association.
(b) The authors of the exhibition will be awarded with five pieces of exhibition collection of "Invitation to Dushan"-- the First Anhui International Contemporary Art Exhibition published by the magazine "Artist".
(c) All participants in this exhibition will be propagated and promoted on the public Wechat platform by China Sculptor Association or China Public Art Research.
(d) Gold, silver, bronze award will be issued for the exhibition works along with honor certificates.
Declaration: All the award-winning works shall not be withdrawn in the exhibition period, otherwise shall be disqualified.

3. The statement is deemed to be agreed upon by all contributors without confirmation in form of writing or otherwise.
